Tony Galea, HGH supplier to the stars, has been indicted by the feds and all around the world of pro sports you can hear the sounds of cheating, big name athletes reaching for a change of underwear. Galea, who is banned from practicing medicine here in the U.S., has treated A-Rod, Beltran, Reyes, Tiger, etc all and might be put in a position by the feds in which it becomes his ass or their needle scarred asses instead. I would LOVE to see it.

For my money they were all doing something naughty with him because there is no good reason why anyone would see a guy who is banned from practicing in this country when thousands of other doctors can do exactly what he does LEGALLY. Unless of course, there is another benefit to seeing the guy who deals the cards like he’s Worm in Rounders, which of course there is as we just learned from the big indictment.

When a doctor supplies steroids to big name athletes there is zero chance any legitimate athlete will work with him because just the association is enough to ruin a guy’s credibility. Nobody would take this risk unless they were in a position to reap a reward on the field that they couldn’t get from going to the legit doctors. You’ll hear stuff about blood spinning and centrifuges and medical breakthroughs but the reality is this : Galea peddled HGH and other fun stuff and that’s the only reason anyone would go see him. Unless of course he had a hot receptionist, in which case, Tiger and A-Rod might have just been in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The funniest thing about all of the HGH stuff is that while we’re hooting and hollering about the latest HGH runner there are chemists and players out there that are already making and taking the next generation of PED’s unbeknownst to us all. The players union, knowing this, will get a good kick out of the hoopla that will come when they announce the new test for HGH and they will crow about how much cleaner they’ve made the sport. And that night, all over baseball, backup shortstops will hit 900 ft home runs and we’ll all go to bed in peace, knowing our game has been cleaned up for good.

If you ever wanted to seriously clean up baseball you’d have to freeze the blood samples like they do in the Olympics so they could retest over time as the testing catches up to the science. Courtney Love will get hired to speak at the Harvard commencement ceremony before the Union agrees to that.

Speaking of blood testing, Floyd Landis, who is as big a scam as anyone not working in politics, told a heck of a tale about Lance Armstrong the other day. The only problem is that Floyd gave away all of his credibility to sell seats on his “I was Framed Tour” and nobody cares what he says. But you have to admit the part about Lance having an apartment in Spain with a secret refrigerator in which he kept the clean blood for the drug tests sounded awfully possible. Especially when you watch Lance ride nowadays.

This is gonna sound an awful lot like a chest thumping but how about those Celtics? I was retarded when I picked them over the Cavs, I was smoking something when I picked them over the Magic, I can’t wait to hear what I am when I pick them over the Lakers. I mean, besides right. Nothing like an unselfish team that plays defense. Nothing.

I had a guy in my cab the other day who was telling me that the Yankees would kill to make Lebron a New Jersey Net because of the effect it would have on the Yes Network. For those of you who don’t know, the Nets play their games on the Yankees TV network and as of now the Nets generate as much ad revenue as cable access does but if you tack on Lebron that changes in a hurry. Because as we all know, any team with Lebron on it is a must watch team, that is, until the playoffs start. Ha Ha. I also had a guy in my cab who was looking for an adult store that had “buddy booths”, whatever they are. I was just happy that someone got in and didn’t comment on my ethnicity. Or maybe he did?

While we’re talkin’ King James, those ridiculous stories about Delonte West and Lebron’s mom are hilariously underreported. I’m not saying they’re true but in a land where we now report twitter comments as news how did this, true or not, manage to elude the national spotlight? This is the real perk of free agency! Forget the money and the courtship, now in today’s free agency your mom can be rumored to be doing anything (literally) and the press will leave it alone for fear of pissing you off before you come to their town. Enjoy that while it lasts big guy, because if you wind up in New York, NOTHING IS KEPT A SECRET.

Speaking of New York, Mayor Bloomberg, Lord of the Bike Lanes, must really believe global warming is about to kick in big time because he keeps adding more bike lanes in a climate that renders them useless 9 months out of the year. And as far as the other 3 months go, nobody uses them when it’s warm out either. People who ride bikes in New York ride against traffic, through lights, in between cars, and the whole time the bike land is EMPTY. Adding more bike lanes is as helpful to the city as cloning Oliver Perez would be to the Mets.

Saw a report today that says the Nationals are interested in Roy Oswalt. Who woulda thunk it, the Nationals as buyers? Man, how quickly things can change in baseball. If you don’t believe me ask David Ortiz.

Jose Lima died at 37 today and you’ll hear a lot about what a great guy he was, the music thing, the 21 win season with the Astross and deservedly so because he was an awesome dude but I just wanna point out what a great playstation pitcher he was too because in the world of fat delusional thirty somethings, that’s also worth mentioning.

Thank god they made another Robin Hood by the way. Thank frickin’ God.

Hola Wheelhousers it’s World Heavyweight Champion of the World, Universe and your mother’s undergarments…the one and only “The Champ” Jeff Peck to give you some commentary in the world of “The Champ!”

Been completely busy lately which is a good thing cause it involves making money, doing this awesome show we have here and trying to get this called a college degree. That’s right I’ve decided to try and finish this thing up called a college education. Which also means a summer semester which sucks major balls. The good thing is the course are on this fangle thing called the internet so I can do it whenever I want and pants are actually optional.

I decided to stay up past midnight last night to watch the Yankees/Red Sox and boy was I so happy to watch the Yankees blow a 5 run lead for the 2nd night in a row and for Marcus Thames to have such an impact on the game yet again. Does Marcus Thames realize that when he is playing in the outfield that he isn’t listed as the DH still? He needs to catch a ball and not look like he is getting a golden shower from Peter North as the ball drops from the sky.

Was that analogy to graphic? I’m sure my High School English teacher would be proud of how I use literary elements now.

Random Jeff Peck fact for the day: I used to take Advanced Placement English courses. True story. For some reason I could write really well. I’m a modern day Rain Man minus the ability to do math and remember anything.

Chris Easter from www.themanregistry.com is joining us live tonight for WTF!? Wednesday to talk about some cool gadgets you could buy or give to some of your friends. I went to the website and there is a TON of cool shit over there. If your a recovering alcoholic I would recommend that you not visit that website.

Got to hang out with Bower & Scooter this past Saturday night following their show in Denver. Lets just say a whole lot of PBR and beers that start with Los led to cell phone pictures of Bower wearing a princess crown end up on my cell phone. I think I should post them sometime.

Should be a fun show as always as we get 24 hours closer to the return of “The Sweet Nasty” Chris Cause to The Wheelhouse so be there…or download the show…whatever you prefer.

Yo, your majesty, stay in Cleveland

So the Cavs have completed they’re annual playoff flop and just like that the biggest free agency sweepstakes in league history are about to begin. Nobody cares about the Finals. No matter what David Stern tells you on his eight hundred radio appearances he makes this week to promote them, everyone just wants to know where King James is gonna park his stretch Maybach. I have a bit of advice for ‘ol Bron-Bron: Don’t park it in the big apple. You couldn’t handle parking it in the big apple.

This has nothing to do with Bloomberg’s brigade of overzealous ticket writing gnats that swarm the street and issue summonses to everything from funeral processions to cop cars (true story) because as a guy making 8.2 trillion, you can surely handle the requisite 5 parking tickets a week that get issued to a New York resident. As incessant as the ticketing is in New York there is one thing even more relentless than our ticket writers and that is our fans and our media. We are one and the same.

Up until now he has been coddled, as his whole existence has taken place in Ohio. The local press is about one sixteenth the size of the New York press and they’re a lot more forgiving because he’s the biggest star in their town and that means something to them. It doesn’t work that way in New York. Lebron could come here and score 85 points in a game only to miss a game tying free throw and get called useless, a chocker, or worse, A-Rod part two. A-Rod came here as the biggest baseball star in the universe and got treated like he was Faizhaul Shasaud, the times square bomber, every time he left a man on base. No one cared that he won two MVP’s here and lead the league in everything, all they cared about is that he came through in the clutch, and when he didn’t they let him know it. Man did they let him know.

I don’t think Lebron can handle this place. I really don’t. After what I saw out of him after his game five meltdown in which he either quit on the floor or was auditioning for a sequel to “Eight Men Out”, depending on which talk show you were listening to, I realized that his best bet would be to stay put in “Crackron”,OH.(thats a local nickname, not mine) The New York media would eat him alive if he pulled that here and the fans would turn on him quicker than Rajan Rondo after one of Lebrons 8 turnovers the other night.

This is no knock on the Buckeye state, I happen to know it very well as my wife is from there and we go back all the time. I love the place. But I also know New York really well because I not only grew up here, but I drove a cab here. When you drive a cab in a city you get to know the place from the unique vantage point that a proctologist gets to know a person. You see angles few others will ever see, and as you can imagine, not all of those angles are pretty.

But the difference between New York and Ohio is that in New York the “proctologists” don’t keep the angles a secret like they do in Ohio. In Ohio the “proctologists” examine you and put the bad stuff in a file. In New York they put in on a ticker in the middle of Times Square, the crossroads of the world.

Here’s one small example of how forgiving the Ohio press is. Lebron’s mom got charged with a dui and resisting arrest recently and would not let authorities cuff her. When they finally did she kicked out the windows in the cop car. Pretty ugly stuff but IT STAYED IN OHIO!!! The press barely touched it for fear of upsetting their meal ticket and the story never went national.

Could you imagine if this happened with Lebron as a Knick??? It would be the biggest story on earth. Yes, Earth. Not only would it be the lead story on six thousand publications, some toy maker would create a doll that wobbled and kicked while slurring it’s speech and every time you touched the ball the crowd would chant “take mom’s keys, take mom’s keys”. Never mind the three weeks of sports talkers analyzing the link between your mom’s behavior and the layup you didn’t hit during a pre season game.

This is the most unforgiving place in the world. And being a big star doesn’t invite less scrutiny, in New York it works the other way around. The bigger the star, the biggers the swarm around him. Do you think being the most beloved quarterback in NFL history did Brett Favre any good when he went color blind during the stretch run of 2 years ago. There was no free pass for Favre, and he’s actually won a championship. Ahem.

I know Lebron’s boy C.C. Sabathia is going to tell him New York is a great place to play, but that’s easy for him to say, HE’S ON THE YANKEES! Lebron aint coming here to sign with the Yankees, he’s gonna be on the Knicks. Yup, those Knicks, you know the ones I’ve been talking about in my act for eight years?

I’ve been doing this joke in my act for EIGHT years :

I’m glad baseball is back because the sports winter was tough. Hockey was bad, football ended bad, THE KNICKS ARE SO BAD IF YOU GET THERE EARLY YOU CAN PLAY. I’M SERIOUS, ME MY BROTHER AND MY UNCLE ACTUALLY BEAT THE KNICKS 94-82 LAST THURSDAY. IT’S DEPRESSING, I ONCE LEFT TWO KNICKS TICKETS IN THE FRONT SEAT OF MY CAR, SOMEBODY ACTUALLY BROKE IN AND LEFT TWO MORE……

The sad truth is not that I’ve been able to get away with doing the bit for eight years, it’s that the bit has been applicable for LONGER THAN THAT! The Knicks haven’t won a playoff series since THE CLINTON ADMINISTRATION!!! They are the worst team in professional sports. They call Madison Square Garden the “world’s most famous arena” but what does that mean exactly? Last spring Michael Jackson’s doctor was the world’s most famous doctor, what good did that do him?

There will be plenty of contrarians who will point out that if you come to the Knicks there will be nowhere to go but up. Totally true. For the first few days. But once you’re on the job a little while no one wants to hear about the size of the mess you inherited. If you don’t believe me ask the President. Stay put in the 216 area code Bronny, you’ll thank me for it. And if you do have to leave, go to a forgiving place like Chicago where they’ll treat you nice no matter what you do. Look at the Cubs. The last time the Cubs won the Titanic hadn’t even been built yet they sell out every game. That doesn’t happen in New York. Not even for you, the greatest regular season player in the league.
