San Francisco Giants right handed phenom TIM LINCECUM wins the NL CY YOUNG AWARD for the 2nd year in a row. In 2009, Linecum 15-7 with a 2.48 ERA. Rounding out the rest of the voting was Chris Carpenter (STL), Adam Wainwright (STL). Wainwright actually recieved the most first place votes yet finished third after a Cy Young voting system that can only be compared to the BCS STANDINGS. No word what Lincecum was smoking when he heard he won, I’m guessing it was only of the finest ”sticky of the icky.”
In the “no shit” department:
- CHRIS SIMMS was named starting quarterback of the DENVER BRONCOS in place of an injured KYLE ORTON who had to be helped to his feet during an injury suffered in WEEK 10. Simms, hasn’t started a game since Sept. 24th, 2006 when he needed emergency surgery to remove his spleen.
- The WEEK 11 matchup of two…1-8 teams; the CLEVELAND BROWNS & DETROIT LIONS will be BLACKED OUT in Detroit this weekend. The stadium still has over 7,000 tickets available for the game. No word if BOWER is going to this matchup of two amazing teams.
In the “ok…thanks for telling me” department:
- ALLEN IVERSON is close to signing with the NEW YORK KNICKS. They have to sell tickets at MSG somehow. (Hey at least we put NBA news in here.)
In the “you’ve got to be shitting me” department:
- OLE MISS has approved a KKK protest prior to the OLE MISS/LSU game on Saturday. The reason being is because Ole Miss chancellor DAN JONES removed ”the south will rise again” from the song. Yep, it’s 2009 and were still talking about this.
